Rio Vista today, only the second time on this trip. Then a charlie horse hours later that kept going and going. Got some more medium sized buckets but need one large one for managing the new anchor in the cockpit locker. Also got kale.

Still haven't sorted out the bike trailer hitch. May just order one of the same trailer, 90 degree locking and all.

One place I often go wrong is estimating the amount of effort other people will put in to tasks, work or otherwise. I'll read an assignment and think ok, this describes a lot of work, people are going to simplify this, so I do, and they don't, and I look like a jerk. Or I think it sounds completely straightforward in demanding a certain thing, and everyone else just kind of ignores that, then I alone over do it and look like a jerk. Some level of over-doing things is defence against missing in one direction. U*People throws a curve in this (they have in the past found my blog so being defensive there) because you don't really know what the rubric is until you go to grade each other's work. This paper was graded on five points. All but one of them were on formatting. You could write correctly formatted gibberish and get 80%. But that's actually a bit predictable with U*People. How they go through the hoops without really doing things is extremely contrary to my conditioning.

The end is approaching within sight. Finals are Jan 5th. Then soon after, another Cerro Coso class starts. Going to keep it to one for a while, especially if work workload stays high.

Few good storms with downpours. The bucket in the cockpit says about 4 inches. Alpaca socks and leg warmers are permanently on and I just upgraded to the "bah, it's not cold, why did I bring the bulky wool sweater" sweater a couple of days ago. Not terrible out by any stretch but glad I brought it.

People here have been siding with a resident sneak-a-board. Latest chapter in that saga is he's crashing on another boat than his own, and I have no idea and am not going to ask if it's with the owner's permission or not. His own is a 21' cuddy cabin motorboat that's not conductive to sneaking.

More mucking with Windows tablets. It couldn't activate online declaring the license to be invalid. Got a Win7 license online and it couldn't activate either with an error code that translates to not being able to talk to the authentication server. There was a bit of a slaughter a while back when a bunch of SSL certificates had to be revoked and reissued so suspecting that got caught up in that, so got to do the 800 number automated offline phone registration with the new license. Windows, you have so many problems. But I guess if it can't talk to the activation server, the activation server can't remotely arbitrarily kill the license, so there's that at least.
