Finally ate something other than trail mix after a few days here and made myself little bread slice pizzas, and also finally made it in to CSC and had outside beers with people. One person got an RS Quest rigging lesson and in the process we found the bolt rope of the sail was ripped to heck so changed out the sail too. Words keep failing me. Phrases are slowly coming back to me now after the fact. Hopped the 1pm Amtrak from Antioch, got off in Richmond, rode down, then took BART back. Couldn't remember where a closer station is so went to the one I know, El Cerrito, then backtracked to change lines to Antioch. Last Amtrak back is about 5:46pm from EMY which would make for an early evening. So a few bike miles today too. It would make more sense to go in to Emeryville than Richmond but I didn't really look at it this morning. BART reminded me of early in the plague when I was shuttling between the east bay and near Bethel Island as much as I could then often just getting there and having work emergencies the whole time. That was extremely not fun. I'm right by the Antioch Amtrak station and much closer to BART and the ride is way more free of horrible bits. Applied for a round jobs after the holidays, after scrapping to catch up then fumbling and flailing when I finally had some time, and heard back from none of them. It's so hard to convince myself that this isn't just a waste of time. I wish I could tell people that a cover letter is not a magic bullet that fixes a sordid employment history. Even though my profile has been public on Indeed and a bunch of places for ages, for some reason, applying to jobs generated a flood of fake job spam pretending to be Indeed, so guessing one of the jobs I applied to was completely fake and just harvesting emails. I'd kill to take a year off and just work on creative projects. Classes start again soon. Was trying to figure out how to manage a haul out for a few things but I'm not sure how to work that. Logistics are complicated.
