In to town yesterday for supplies. Knee's been bothering me so duct taped the old shims back in to these shoes. Racing in to the wind to make the train omg was that two weeks ago now seems to have triggered that.

Lived in South Dakota and Iowa when I was young, then Minnesota, and the slow, shuffling gait and confused non-presence of old farmers out here is painful and familiar. Agricultural communities shouldn't be this depressing. It's amazing what we just get used to and see as ok or stop seeing at all.
