Don't have a good place to dump the garbage that pops in to my head, but then I wind up dumping other kinds of garbage anyway. Doritos were invented by a Danish woman. https://www.nordicnames.de/wiki/Dorete . Maybe another Masto account just for filth like that. Cohost needs to hurry up the RSS. Bird site I think may owe some success to encouraging people to post dumb garbage on their own wall instead of in other people's comments, where FB is the opposite... you don't post unless you have some solid material but everyone comments on everything. Mastodon is doing even more stuff to let people express set boundaries around what they're interested in discussing. I like the idea of slightly asocial social media. LJ/DW has a lot of that too, with the premise that you're commenting on someone's journal, which is a bit personal and not necessarily a discussion topic.
Microsoft continues to just be bizarro world. A lot of relatively competent engineers refuse to work with it because it's screw ups make you look incompetent. Incompetent engineers like being able to point at Microsoft and blame it for the myriad of failures that come with it, ignoring that they're not offering clients alternatives. MS apparently had a glitch where years of "deleted" messages, for a brief while, came undeleted. Some critical infrastructure that processes emails, as a safety, deletes messages *before* it processes them to avoid any possibility whatsoever that it would ever re-process old emails, which would be very bad. So, something very bad happened. That also caused Microsoft to do more stupid stuff. Can't help thinking about how many technologies I'm working with that are bad my sanity and bad for my career.
Wet and rainy here. I keep getting excited when there are three clear days forecasted between rains but it keeps turning out that only part of way day isn't rainy. The rain brings wind storms and all of that makes it harder to get out and do things. Snow is cold but relatively placid.
