Feb. 22nd, 2023 10:48 amAfter the update to OpenBSD 7.2, Firefox is a lot faster, but also crashing a lot now. Took the time to get hardware OpenGL going (wasn't sure if I was on software rendering or hardware; turns out I was on software). Fan spins less and Firefox uses less CPU (but that may be general speed-ups) but animation isn't any faster. Wonder where the delay is but not going to find out. Still lots of home sysadmin work to do; slowass.net is an antique Slackware install still, mailserver is still 7.0.H
Getting taken to task in class for supposedly not discussing things I described in far more technical depth than anyone else. I have enough absurdity in my life already without this. GreaseMonkey to the rescue!
Hmm, maybe just need to raise ulimits on Firefox.
Edit: Checked grades. "Learning Journal" feedback is in there. First Journal, I wrote in technical detail about compatibility issues and broken links in the same code we were supposed to run in that unit. Feedback was that she was glad that I found the work problem free. I'm not sure if I'm being messed with here or minimizing problems is a cultural thing or her responses are completely random and like the students, she's just gaming the system by trying to appear present. With all of the Markov Chains chatterbot take-over of written discourse, I guess it's the year of just bloody random stuff filtered to appear n place. So I guess I need to extend the instructor deleter to operate on more pages.
