Have a few sailors out here. One of them, K, is super introverted and can't deal with crowds and says he shrinks away from groups of three. He says it takes him two weeks after being social to feel social again, and since he showed up and chatted two weeks ago, that seems to be on schecdle. He has a beautiful cutter rigged Cape Dory 30 (I misspoke before) and was feeling social today and the wind was perfect. He's dabbling with R and did a GIS project to find mushroom ranges based on tree ranges, soil conditions, and other conditions (if you hack on creative projects like that, your project is a big deal to you). He's married but his SO doesn't share his wanderlust. He's bouncing between marinas guesting at places. He's paying close attention to the habits and goings ons of the local birds and wilflife but mostly the birds. His SO also very much did not want to do van life, prompting stories of "hey, let's just park TinyHouse in the college parking lot or buy land and build a house". Enough commonality to be curious.

When he first came in and he was chatting with myself and one other person who claims to be an ex-sailor (sometimes hard to tell because sailors tell tall tales too) he asked me what I did and I said "tech support" (supporting stuff is more than half my day) he commented that that's what he's doing as well.

Last time I sailed with someone was BoatyBoaty's return trip from Bethel Hell.

Half way notes for myself here. There's a page in my notebook of people and their boats and most of them are sadly gone elsewhere. Was hoping to catch up with Orrin and his wife whose name I keep forgetting. Might text him when/if I'm operational.
