Mar. 3rd, 2022 01:09 amMore boring stuff. There are little line hangers on the back of the doghouse in the cabin whose lines, except one, all long ago rotted out. Those are off. The replacement line I ordered is the wrong size so ordered yet more, 3/16 instead of 1/8". Back stay is re-attached and rig has tension and cotter pins again. Put the shape impression tool on the forestay chainplate thingie which is partially obscured by some fiberglass and shadow traced that on to paper. Need to scan another little pile of tracings, drawings, and tax forms (done). I still don't have most of the tax forms I need. Don't those have a deadline that's some time before the tax deadline? Not much uninterrupted daylight today. Mucking with bike touring gear options and parts. I'm not even sure of my exit plans so it's hard to give things proper attention, and a part of that is how much free time I wind up having. Tensioning shrouds and stays is a bit like truing a bike wheel. After deciding not to try to pull the forestay chainplate, read the Harken installation manual again, to see what's involved in de-tensioning for when/if I do swap that later. Next exactly Ikea. Assembly instructions have be executed in reverse, and one of the steps is hacksawing a part, so I'm not sure how that will work. Three Loc-Tited allen bolts, two lock nuts with washers. The furler itself rides up and down a large swaged bolt to act as its own turnbuckle. U*P registration opened up today so I'm now signed up for a networking class. It'll probably be painful.
