Jun. 15th, 2021 09:13 pmI'm surrounded by Carl Alberg boats. The Alberg 30 is ofc an Alberg design. Her lines and design is very much what Pearson became famous on, as with the Pearson 30 kitty corner from the Alberg. Many Pearson boats are unmodified designs previously just called Alberg and made by other builders. I hadn't realized tho I think something was mentioned that boat friend's Cape Dory is also an Alberg design, tho completely different, being fine hulled and deep full keeled instead of round bottomed and shoal keeled, long and narrow instead of beamy, heavily ballasted instead of moderately heavily ballasted. While now clearly more modern, at the time, it was a throwback to older boats with deep heavy keels and fine hulls versus the trend of big bottomed boats, which Alberg was in large part also responsible for. Second guessing your success and being right is a power move.
