Replacing the chainplate bolts with bronze, where it bolts to the bulkheads through a hard-wood wedge, but McMaster only has fully threaded, not partially threaded. Filling in most of the thread with Sugru. The stainless bolts are pitted. Not keen on having to replace bulkheads so metal not reacting with wood there seems like a good idea. Still finishing up the lowers with the uppers still to be done (chainplates that the side shrouds to the middle of the mast and top of the mast, respectively, attach to). Backstay chainplate and forestay chainplates are also to be done but that will have to be next year.

Maybe some vintage bronze turnbuckles and maybe a bronze centerboard and pivot pin then no more bronze. Stanchion bases and some other deck hardware is already bronze. A large hand bilge pump was bronze. Kind of kicking myself for just putting it in recycle since it was a solid antique and also recycle may not know what to do with it. Cleats and chocks are original bronze. Stainless backing plates on things are fine. Mast hardware should be aluminium and I think most of it is. Pulpits and stanchions are chromed something or another.

Re-doing the coaming got held up on other things but I'm going to try to finish the one bit of inside coaming at least. Outside is still to be done.

Much to do.

Also want to remove the marine head and holding tank. Neither are the main problem from what I'm reading, but the hose that connects them is. To have a chance at working, the holding tank would need to be moved lower, with the structure around it rebuilt, so stuff doesn't get stuck in the line but drains down, then lots of ventilation added. The holding tank takes up a big chunk of the space under the forward berth, but also has to be large because you have to flush stuff out of the lines with ample water. Not only does it take up a lot of space under there, it ruins that whole space. And then I don't use it tho I'm required to have it. No matter how unusued and well flushed, it's an anaerobic system, and any nutrient in there at all is going to cause problems unless I massively vent it all in addition to fixing drainage, which would also be annoying. Plan right now is to take that all out and replace it with a self-contained portable head, without hoses, that can be completely cleaned out. This might be a bit of a jerk move as the marine head seems to be vintage 1960s and after a rebuild is still working great (but not smelling great). Under the sink also has a smell but I should just plan on replacing that drain line as needed unless/until remodeling. Then I'll do like one lady with a Folkboat did and add a removable sink bucket.

Back in this space again, briefly. I got spoiled on good food and left over french press coffee from the day before, and on exciting things from Bevmo, which now has a lot less beer after allocating most of the floor to housewares and groceries but still has some things I haven't had in a while.
