Trying to catch up on work backlogs is miserable. The was already a massive backlog that a backlog got added to. I'm trying to clear out one backlog so I can get to the other backlog that backlogs keep taking me from.

I hate the Elric books but there are other shallow, self-obsessed things I hate far more. The main character i not a protagonist, not quite an anti-hero, just a dumbass. A lot of the fantasy elements are creative, but characters and plot are thoughtless. The first book didn't have time to develop major plot wtfs. It really only built things up. The world is full of authors with pretty words who have no idea what direction they're going with their characters and story.

Seeing news that point and shoot digital cameras are currently in vogue as a retro item and having taken two from partially sorting through my mother's stuff, I guess I should make a new eBay account and move these to someone who will use them, even if only for a bit (er... for a while, but as a gag works too there). The Kodak look way better pictures than the Nikon even though the Nikon was newer. The Nikon has a lot of out of focus, blurry messes and color is generally poor, but the Nikon looks newer and fancier. So much stuff with point and shoot digitals was just bad and fake though. Just, need new batteries for both, if there are any newer lithium batteries than the ones that died sitting in them. And need to find a cable for one of these.

On a lark, tried to look for any kind of a tag in my old work boots I have a ton of miles on, and did find a little nylon tag all curled up in the upper sole with a barely legible number on it. Googling it and finding a match, these are vintage Sears, from the 80s. I've had them pushing 10 years and got them well used, and completely rebuilt the soles out of ShoeGoo once after wearing them down thin. They really don't make them like this any more. These bastards are almost as old as I am.

Walked to the store today. Did not miss drivers who have to be in middle of the crosswalk when they see someone wanting to cross. This place blows.
